Gillman Do it Best Home Center Opens New Shelbyville Location
Gillman Do it Best Home Centers celebrated the grand opening of its 16th location in Shelbyville, Ind., with a weekend-long celebration filled with special events, prize giveaways and special savings opportunities for customers.
On Friday, Oct. 20, the Gillman team kicked off family-friendly festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming the community to their new neighborhood home improvement store, and participants enjoyed refreshments from local food trucks, as well as a wood-carving demonstration facilitated by local craftsman Troy Baker.
On Saturday, The Bob & Tom Show veteran and Q95 ROCKS host Chick McGee broadcasted live from the store, bringing live entertainment and special guest interviews to the event. The Shelbyville Fire Department distributed kids’ fire helmets, and attendees enjoyed a cookout benefiting The Arc of Shelby County, while children painted pumpkins and explored a bounce house.
Both Friday and Saturday, the first 150 visitors selected a complimentary gift valued up to $15, and a raffle was held on Saturday for the piece created during Friday’s wood-carving demonstration. Throughout the entire weekend, shoppers had the opportunity to register to win more than $3,000 in prize giveaways. Giveaways included a STIHL handheld battery-powered garden pruner (valued at $179.99), a Weber Genesis SI-E330 LP Gas Grill (valued at $1,299.99), and much more.

Located at 200 Lee Boulevard in Shelbyville, the new, ground-up home center features 17,500 square feet of retail space and an expansive lumberyard. The store features an extensive selection of building materials, hand and power tools including brands like Milwaukee and STIHL, a grilling department featuring brands like Blackstone, Traeger and Weber, Best Look paints, as well as a wide selection of rental equipment. Gillman Do it Best Home Center is a past winner of the Retail Beacon Award from The Hardware Connection.
