Carr Hardware Remembers Former President Marshall Raser

Raser purchased Carr Hardware with his brothers in 1962 and went on to serve as president for more than 50 years, helping guide the company’s growth across Berkshire County while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and local engagement. During his tenure, Carr Hardware expanded to multiple locations and built a reputation among homeowners and contractors in western Massachusetts.
Marshall Raser’s influence extended beyond the business. Raser was active in organizations including the Pittsfield Rotary Club, the Central Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Pittsfield, Inc., contributing to economic development and civic initiatives throughout the region.
Carr Hardware has also been recognized within the independent channel, including as the 2023 Retail Beacon Award winner by Hardware Connection, reflecting its continued investment in customer engagement and retail execution.
