R.P. Lumber Co. to Acquire Mount Carroll Home Center in Illinois

Edwardsville, Ill.-based R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. has agreed to acquire the Mount Carroll Home Center, an independently owned retailer of hardware, lumber, and building materials in Mount Carroll, Ill. The transaction is scheduled to close on Friday, May 17, and is R.P. Lumber’s fourth acquisition this year and its first location in Carroll County. Mount Carroll Home Center becomes R.P. Lumber’s 84th location within six Midwest states.


Ace Hardware to Acquire Bishop Ace Hardware in Illinois

Ace Retail Holdings agreed to acquire Bishop Ace Hardware, a 13-store hardware store chain in central Illinois. Ace will retail store management, personnel and current product mix. The business was founded in 1960 in Springfield, Ill., and operates stores in these Illinois communities: Carlinville, Chatham, Dwight, Havana, Hillsboro, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Normal, Pittsfield, Pontiac, Springfield (two stores) and Taylorville.


Mayhew Tools Adds Two New Pry Bars to Dominator® Pro Line

Mayhew Tools has added two new pry bars to their long-standing Dominator® Pro Pry Bar product line. The new tools, a 36” orange and 36” green handled pry bar, fill a void in the extensive product line comprised of multi-color and length options.
