Johnson Level has introduced a well-thought-out upgrade to the traditional rafter square with its 7-1/4” Johnny Square® MACH-1™. Built from solid aluminum and CNC-machined for accuracy, it brings together smart features like the Smart Mark™ Cutout system and a built-in level vial to help streamline common layout tasks.
The Smart Mark™ system includes clearly etched markings, scribe notches every 1/8” and helpful cutouts for laying out 1X through 6X lumber and LVLs. Standard dimensions—such as 1-1/2”, 3” and 4-1/2”—are clearly marked, along with angle slots for 22.5°, 30°, 45° and 60°. Roof pitch notches and a 7-1/4” frame allow marking across the full width of 2×8 material.
The integrated level vial offers 320° of visibility for checking level, plumb or roof pitch. An inch-wide heel adds measuring surfaces on both sides and the bottom, each with 1/16” scale graduations.
