Bliffert Lumber Promotes Dejewski to Chief Financial Officer

Century Club retailer Bliffert Lumber, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., has announced Dave Dejewski as the new chief financial officer. Dejewski, who has been with the company since 2022 as controller, will now oversee the company’s financial operations and lead its financial team. Bliffert Lumber Owner Eli Bliffert highlighted the company’s recent expansion from two to 14 locations, underscoring the importance of Dejewski’s financial expertise in navigating future growth. Dejewski, who brings 15 years of experience to the role, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Bliffert’s continued success. His appointment took effect on July 31, 2024, and he will be based at the company’s Oak Creek location.


Crescent Tools Unveils New Cushion Grip Adjustable Wrench

Crescent Tools, the Charlotte, N.C.-based inventor of the adjustable wrench, has launched a new cushion grip adjustable wrench designed to make fittings faster and eliminate on-the-job frustration. The tool features a Quick-Fit Jaw with a 1-degree slope for quicker fitments, an off-corner loading design to prevent rounding of fasteners, and a wide jaw for increased access and capacity. Additionally, a smaller knurl minimizes the risk of accidental back-off. Ace Hardware Adopts VusionGroup’s Digital Labels for Store Efficiency

Ace Hardware has entered into a partnership with VusionGroup to implement advanced digital shelf label technology across its network of more than 5,000 stores. This initiative, coinciding with the retailer’s 100th anniversary, aims to enhance pricing accuracy and operational efficiency. The new system, which uses VusionGroup’s Bluetooth-based IoT platform and cloud management software, will allow Ace to update pricing quickly and manage store operations more effectively. Hillman Announces Leadership Transition: Jon Michael Adinolfi to Become CEO in 2025

Do it Best Awards $1,000 Intern Scholarship

Do it Best concluded its 2024 summer internship program on August 2 by awarding a $1,000 scholarship to Ethan Schrek, a business analytics and applied computational mathematics and statistics student at the University of Notre Dame. The internship offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience through mentorship, professional development, and team-based projects. The program culminates in a capstone presentation, evaluated by company executives, where students showcase their growth. Schrek’s outstanding performance earned him the top scholarship. “This scholarship acknowledges Ethan’s dedication and hard work,” said VP of Human Resources Gary Furst.
