Stanley 1913 Launches Take-Back Program to Reinforce “Built for Life” Promise

Stanley 1913 recently rolled out a new sustainability initiative: a take-back program designed to extend the lifespan of its products and reinforce its “Built for Life” brand promise. Through the program, customers can return used Stanley 1913 items for repair, refurbishment, or recycling, receiving credits toward new purchases.
The company says the program will help reduce waste, support circular economy goals, and deepen customer loyalty by giving “pre-loved” gear a second life. Returned products will be evaluated, refurbished, and resold in “renewed” condition, or responsibly recycled when repair isn’t viable.
Stanley 1913 leadership emphasized that this move is more than just a sustainability play—it’s a strategic brand differentiation. The company intends to align customer lifetime value with environmental stewardship, positioning the program as a natural extension of its durable, heirloom-quality design philosophy.
To encourage participation, Stanley 1913 is rolling out promotional incentives—credit multipliers tied to how old or used items are—and marketing support to help retailers and partners explain the program in-store. The goal: making circular habits easy for customers and ensuring that their relationship with Stanley 1913 gear doesn’t end when wear and tear begins.
