House-Hasson Rise & Shine Summertime Show Highlights Growth, Retailer Engagement
House-Hasson hosted its 2025 Rise & Shine Summertime Dealer Market at the Sevierville Convention Center in Tennessee, June 12-14, with a strong turnout from retailers and vendors. Retailer attendance and vendor participation surpassed last year’s numbers, and warehouse sales during the show were up about 15 percent year over year, according to House-Hasson CEO Steve Henry.
The summer event also marked one year since the finalization of House-Hasson acquisition of Bostwick-Braun.
“Our buyers and sales folks gave us a team effort,” said Henry. “The salesmen brought a lot of dealers to the show.”
Henry noted that the golf tournament was once again popular enough to require two courses. Based on this response, House-Hasson is considering a soft opening on Thursday for future shows, including the October Fall Market, to accommodate the tournament and other events, Henry said.
Weathering Tariffs, Inflation and More — Just Like Always
During his remarks to the retailers in attendance, Henry placed the show within a broader historical context, emphasizing how both House-Hasson and independent retailers have endured and adapted across generations.
“House-Hasson Hardware was founded in 1906,” he said. “In that 119 years of doing business, House-Hasson and dealers have experienced World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, COVID—and we’re still selling hardware.”
He added that even amid current economic pressures and tariffs, independent hardware stores remain vital to their communities.
“Our dealers are spread across America, 30 or 40 minutes away from a big-box store. Being able to get a product in five minutes versus an hour and a half, plus getting advice on how to install it, is huge. Independent hardware stores are so valuable to this country,” Henry said.
Retailer Demand and Changing Assortments
During the Rise & Shine Summertime Dealer Market, retailers kept House-Hasson’s store set team busy throughout the event.
“I was very impressed by customer dealers visiting store set department wanting to update their stores,” Henry said. “We were swamped for store sets and updating.”
Henry also noticed an uptick in interest in poultry-raising supplies. Though House-Hasson had tried selling those items in the past, the interest at this show indicated renewed demand. The company also introduced new vendors and continued to promote special buying opportunities throughout the event.
House-Hasson Fall Market Set for October
House-Hasson’s next market will be the Wholesale Hardware Harvest Fall Dealer Market, Oct. 23–25, 2025, at the Sevierville Convention Center in Sevierville, Tenn. which will again feature vendor interaction and bonus-buy specials.
Henry noted that the Sevierville venue is being stretched to accommodate growing attendance and vendor presence. The company is planning additional vendor introductions and promotions aimed at improving dealer profitability in the third and fourth quarters of 2025. The market will offer show-only specials and merchandising support for retailers preparing for the year-end season.
