Pleasants Hardware and Taylor’s Do it Center Celebrate Grand Opening of 21st Location

Pleasants Hardware and Taylor’s Do it Center opened their 21st location in Powhatan, Va.

Family-owned Pleasants Hardware and Taylor’s Do it Center celebrated the grand opening of its new Pleasants Hardware location in Powhatan, Va., on Saturday, September 16.  This is the company’s 10th location in the Richmond market and the third new location since Taylor’s Do it Center acquired Pleasants Hardware in 2016. Pleasants Hardware is a Century Club retailer that dates back to 1908.

The celebration included grilling demos from Traeger and Big Green Egg, special discounts and giveaways throughout the day, and the company’s traditional board-cutting ceremony.

“This is our third new Pleasants location in the last four years,” said Joe Taylor, president and CEO of Pleasants Hardware and Taylor’s Do it Center. “We’re working hard to expand to best meet the needs of our neighbors in the Greater Richmond market and excited to now be a part of the Powhatan community.”

A board-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the opening of Pleasants Hardware’s new location in Powhatan, Va.

The store is conveniently located in the Powhatan Shoppes and includes a wide product selection of top brands. The store is now open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Jason Askew, who will manage this new location, has more than 30 years of experience in the home improvement industry and has been with Pleasants Hardware for over a decade. Previously, he managed the new Pleasants Hardware location in New Kent County that opened in October 2021. Prior to that he managed the opening of the new Pleasants’ location in Hanover County that opened in March 2020. “Jason has been successful in leading the teams at several of our stores, including two of our recent locations,” said Darrell Campbell, general manager of Pleasants Hardware. “He’s a great leader and will be an excellent resource for the Powhatan community.”
