New Mega Group of Ace Hardware Stores Formed

Potter’s Ace Hardware, which operates 21 locations in middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky, has been acquired by a company in Dallas, Texas, that plans to bring together up to 150 Ace Hardware locations under one group. Potter’s Ace has been family owned since 1946, with roots in the grocery business.

Potter’s Ace co-founder Brandon Smith noted the stores will stay branded as Potter’s Ace.

Bolster Hardware LLC has been formed to serve as the umbrella organization for this new retail group operated by Al Bhakta, the founding principal of CMG Cos. The diversified company also operates 200+ KFC and Taco Bell restaurants as well as 99 Rent-A-Center stores among its eight portfolio brands. Further acquisitions in the hardware sector are anticipated.
