Brownsboro Hardware & Paint EGGFest Raises Record $42,500 for Two Louisville Food Charities

Brownsboro Hardware & Paint’s annual EGGFest Food Festival set a new fundraising record this year, raising $42,573.28 for two Louisville-area food charities: Kentucky Harvest and A Recipe to End Hunger.
Each organization received $21,286.64 during a check presentation held earlier today. This year’s total is nearly $2,500 more than the amount raised in 2024.
“This is a phenomenal amount of money raised, and we could not be more pleased,” said Doug Carroll, owner of Brownsboro Hardware & Paint. “We are grateful to the people who made it happen — the cooks, the chefs, the sponsors, and all those who attended this year’s EGGFest Food Festival. We feel an obligation to give back to the community, and together, we have once again been able to make a difference.”
Carroll and Brownsboro Hardware & Paint was featured in the March 2025 issue of Hardware Connection as part of the magazine’s special section on grilling and outdoor living. The feature highlighted Carroll’s expertise and Brownsboro Hardware’s reputation as a go-to destination for grills, accessories, and outdoor living products, showcasing the store’s community connections and its leadership in one of the industry’s fastest-growing categories.
Dawne Gee, founder of A Recipe to End Hunger, noted the growing need in the community.
“One hundred percent of these funds raised by Brownsboro Hardware & Paint and donated to A Recipe to End Hunger will go right back into the community and into the bellies of those in need. Need is up like never before because studies show that giving is at a three-decade low. We so appreciate how the community has embraced EggFEST to make a change for food insecure individuals.”
Heather Stewart, executive director of Kentucky Harvest, added: “EGGFest is more than just a fundraiser — it’s a lifeline for our mission. Every dollar raised keeps our trucks on the road, rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it to families who need it most.”
This year’s EGGFest was held August 1–2 and featured a food festival and cooking competition, with all food prepared on Big Green Egg ceramic charcoal cookers sold at Brownsboro Hardware & Paint. Over the years, the annual event has raised more than $400,000 for local nonprofits. Next year’s festival is scheduled for July 31 to August 1, 2026.
Brownsboro Hardware & Paint, known for its customer service and community support, operates two Louisville-area locations and is preparing to celebrate its 65th anniversary.
