Ace Hardware Opens 1.5M-Square-Foot Support Center to Boost Retailer Service

Ace Hardware’s new 1.5 million-square-foot Retail Support Center in Kansas City, Mo., expands the co-op’s supply chain capacity and positions it to meet growing demand from retailers nationwide.

Ace Hardware has opened its newest and largest Retail Support Center (RSC) in Kansas City, Missouri. At 1.5 million square feet—nearly double the size of a standard Ace distribution facility—the new RSC is designed to significantly enhance service delivery to retailers across the central United States. The facility stretches half a mile end to end and is located within Hunt Midwest’s newly developed KCI 29 Logistics Park, offering immediate access to Interstate 29 and Kansas City International Airport.

The Kansas City RSC is outfitted with advanced automation and warehouse management systems that promise greater efficiency and improved supply chain reliability for Ace’s network of more than 5,000 independently owned stores. With optimized processes, the center aims to reduce delivery times and improve inventory accuracy across multiple regions.

“This new 1.5 millionsquarefoot facility in Kansas City is more than just a building—it’s a symbol of what hard work, purpose, and servanthearted teamwork can accomplish,” said John Venhuizen, Ace president and CEO. “It exists for one reason only: to help our locally owned stores serve their neighbors with excellence that has made Ace famous.”

Beyond its logistics capabilities, the RSC is expected to generate more than 350 permanent local jobs, with another 100 created during the construction phase. The opening is part of a long-term strategy to improve Ace’s supply chain scalability and resilience—essential factors for retailers navigating continued demand fluctuations and the need for consistent product availability.

For hardware retailers within the Ace system, the Kansas City RSC represents an expanded capacity to meet customer needs with speed and reliability, backed by modern infrastructure and a centralized location designed to anchor future growth.
