Fuller and Son Hardware Praised for Pandemic Response
Governor Asa Hutchinson recently praised Fuller and Son Hardware for their spirit and generosity during a difficult time in his weekly address. The company will be 100 years old next year, and was started by Walter Fuller with the first store on 28th and Arch in Little Rock in 1921.
The company endured the Great Depression, World War II and now the coronavirus pandemic, according to Hutchinson. He went on to note Bobby Fuller, the grandson of Walter, didn’t lay off any employees, and didn’t charge rent to the two restaurants and dentist he rents space to while they were closed, reports Parris Kane for KATV.
The fourth generation of Fuller’s now own six stores across central Arkansas. Co-Owner Jeff Fuller credited their success to adaptability, kindness and a genuine love for their community.
“We really do care about our community,” Fuller said, “If someone comes in and they don’t spend a nickel with us, as long as we help them out, then that’s just a better feeling than you know, selling something.” Fuller and Son Hardware, which was honored with a Beacon Award in 2016, joins The Hardware Connection Century Club next year.
